OpenResty XRay Version 26.11.1. Now Available
We recently announced the release of OpenResty XRay 26.11.1. This update brings a host of significant improvements and fixes to enhance performance and stability.
Core Highlights for OpenResty XRay 26.11.1
The main thread of this release is AI diagnostic findings you can question and verify—keep asking follow-up questions about the same findings, or jump from an AI report straight back to the flame graph to check the evidence. On top of that, analysis now extends to serverless containers on AWS ECS Fargate, and On-Premises deployments can prepare standby instances for maintenance and recovery.
Three Major Highlights
1. AI diagnostic findings you can question and verify
- Follow-up questions on the same findings: ask follow-up questions about the same diagnostic findings, using the process and host resource usage from the capture to explore causes and optimization opportunities.
- Jump from AI reports to flame graph call paths: go from an AI Assistant report straight to the relevant flame graph call paths to check the evidence, and examine how the same function behaves in different calling contexts.
- Charts and suggested follow-up questions: AI replies and job reports now include charts and suggested follow-up questions, making findings easier to understand and helping guide further investigation.
2. Initial support for diagnosing AWS ECS Fargate applications
- Analysis extends to serverless containers: added initial support for diagnosing AWS ECS Fargate applications. The current scope is limited to selected, manually initiated process analyses.
3. Standby instances for On-Premises deployments
- Built for maintenance and recovery: On-Premises deployments can now prepare standby instances for maintenance and recovery while preserving existing database configuration. Primary/standby switching still requires manual coordination.
Other Important Updates
Analysis and reports
- Improved summary report refresh and regeneration efficiency to reduce waits for repeated analyses. The last usable report remains available if a refresh fails.
- Fixed some tools not rerunning after “Run all,” reducing missed updates when reviewing analysis results.
- Improved stability when stopping, retrying, and recovering recording and replay analyses to reduce interruptions during diagnosis.
Metrics and data
- Reduced storage use for historical application CPU, memory, and disk metrics while preserving retention periods and refresh frequency for ongoing trend analysis.
- Improved the accuracy of resource metric and historical data reads, making it easier to check AI diagnostic findings against resource usage.
Deployment and compatibility
- Improved installation, upgrade, and image build reliability for On-Premises deployments, reducing failures caused by certificate verification, image downloads, and long builds.
- Improved OpenResty application identification and symbol handling to reduce analysis failures caused by version detection, symbol generation, or stale cached data.
With this release, AI diagnostics go beyond handing you a conclusion: you can keep questioning the findings and check them one by one against flame graphs and resource data. Meanwhile, analysis reaches AWS ECS Fargate, and On-Premises deployments are better prepared for maintenance and recovery.
