We are excited to announce the release of OpenResty Edge version 25.12.5-1. This update delivers significant feature enhancements, user experience improvements, and important bug fixes.

Key Highlights

  1. IP lists now fully support IPv6 addresses, a crucial feature for adapting to the evolving modern network landscape.
  2. We’ve introduced two new page rule actions, proxy-pass-request-headers and proxy-pass-request-body, enabling users to control request forwarding behavior with greater precision.
  3. A warning will now be issued if the system time difference between the gateway server and the console exceeds 3 minutes. This helps in quickly identifying and resolving issues such as certificate validation failures or logging discrepancies caused by time synchronization problems.

Key Optimizations

To enhance user experience and management efficiency, the new version introduces several key optimizations:

  1. Performance and Experience Optimization for Large-Scale Deployments: We’ve added pagination support for the usage statistics of resources like upstream servers and certificates. This resolves issues of incomplete display and poor performance when managing a large number of domain names.
  2. More Detailed Event Alerts: We’ve enriched event alerts with additional context information, enabling administrators to understand alert content faster and take prompt action.
  3. More Flexible Upstream Weight Configuration: The system now supports a wider range of proxy upstream weight settings, offering greater flexibility for traffic scheduling strategies.
  4. Multiple User Interface (UI/UX) Enhancements: These include optimizing the navigation bar for narrow screens, improving the display of global search results, and standardizing text, resulting in a more user-friendly and consistent interface.

Key Fixes and Stability Enhancements

This version addresses multiple critical issues, significantly improving system stability and reliability:

  1. Configuration and Data Consistency:
    • Fixed a serious issue where related configurations persisted after applications and global Kubernetes upstreams were deleted.
    • Fixed an issue where licenses might be incorrectly replaced, ensuring proper system authorization.
  2. Core Function Stability:
    • Fixed a Lua exception issue caused by TLS-related applications, enhancing the stability of core proxy services.
    • Fixed an issue where setting proxy SSL/TLS domain names occasionally failed, improving the reliability of SSL/TLS configuration.
  3. Batch Operations and API:
    • Fixed an issue where batch deletion of application IP address lists was not effective.
    • Fixed an issue where the DNS batch operation API failed to correctly generate audit records, ensuring the traceability of operations.
  4. Other Important Fixes:
    • Fixed pagination failures for multiple features (e.g., application cache warm-up, upgrade/downgrade task logs).
    • Fixed an issue where some static files failed to synchronize, ensuring correct configuration synchronization between nodes.
